Fuddy Meers is a dark, screwball comedy that follows a woman named Claire with amnesia. As she attempts to regain her memory and learn about her family history, she encounters many bizarre characters.
One of these characters, Millet, uses a puppet named Hinky Binky to communicate. Millet is quite anxious and sometimes uses the foul-mouthed puppet to speak for him, although this often results in trouble.
Concept
The play is filled with characters just as exaggerated as the plot twists. Because of this, the director and I wanted Hinky Binky to be an extension of Millet's mind. This meant that the outside reflected within.
I drew upon creations of Jim Henson such as Crazy Harry, Gonzo, and Dr. Teeth. I was particularly inspired by their eye bags, brightly colored fur, and teeth.

Final Puppet
The final Hinky Binky puppet was made of lime green fleece and purple fur as the hair. He wears an orange prison jumpsuit, matching Millet.
On his right hand is a tiny manacle made of thermoplastic and silver luster wax.
The contrasting colors and mismatched textures make for a truly maddening character, reflecting Millet's deeper emotions.
